The SHE Files with Esther Lee

Jeneil at LFW

Monday, September 28th, 2009

SHE Caribbean supermodel Jeneil Williams was spotted making the rounds on the catwalks of top London designers during fashion week. SHE loved her performance at PPQ where the Jamaican model joined a line up of only black models! Read more about Jeneil in the September issue of SHE Caribbean, on newsstands now or get your own digital copy!!

Fashion Week-The Roundup

Burberry

Burberry

This season, London Fashion Week attracted the big names in fashion, like the lady herself, US Vogue Editor Anna Wintour. The big labels such as Burberry also returned to London, to add even more dramatic scenes to the 25th anniversary of London Fashion Week. There were several standout trends, including the continuation of the eighties huge structured shoulder look. (Do like I did and raid your mother’s wardrobe now!) The colour palettes were predominantly black and white with touches of oranges, greens and yellows thrown in. There was also a return of the polka dot trend with Luella doing it best. Here are some of my favourite looks from London Fashion Week Spring/Summer 2010.

London Fashion Week Day One

Saturday, September 19th, 2009

London Fashion Week day one began on a high note with Mayor Boris Johnson opening the event after the Headonism show curated by Stephen Jones took place. Supermodel Erin O’Connor of course made an appearance in one of Jones’s theatrical creations. The shows started early that day (too early) with Paul Costelloe at 9:30 and and Caroline Charles after that. Both presentations featured orange, black and white colours with tan and creams toned pieces. Paul Costelloe continued the popular fall trend of 80s inspired shapes with oversized sculptural shoulders for his SS10 line. Caroline Charles did what she always does best with wearable resort wear.

The Ethical fashion lines increased this year with many designers showing under the Esthetica umbrella. Ashley Isham also continued with his usual shapes of floor length evening gowns in bright shades. Ended the night with De Wson. On to Day two…… Check out SHE Caribbean’s Facebook page for instant updates and photos!!
